Millennium Park

These are pictures that I took on a trip to Millennium Park. Millennium Park is a place where a lot of people in Chicago go to see concerts and art outside. It is actually built on top of a roof! Before it was Millennium Park it was a rail yard for the Illinois Central Railroad. That's where train switched train tracks and were repaired. These first two pictures are of the Crown Fountains. They are two giant fountains that face each other. The front of each fountain is like a giant TV screen and the pictures on it change to show faces of children from Chicago. It is made of thousands of glass brinks. They even rain down and spit out water where you can play!


Below are pictures of what people in Chicago call "The Magic Bean". Its real name is the Cloud Gate and it was built to welcome people into Millennium Park. It doesn't look very big in the pictures but it is actually taller than your house! It took workers 10 years to make it this shiny and when you look into it you can see reflections of the entire city! It is like a giant curved mirror!

Skyscrapers

These are pictures that I have taken out of our apartment window. Our apartment is a long way away from the the city, but we can still see the skyscrapers because they are so tall and our apartment is tall too! In the first picture it is raining over the city but not over our apartment! That is why the city looks foggy.

These next two pictures are of the sunrise. The sun is coming up behind the skyscrapers and it makes them look dark. I like how the sky is orange in the pictures(-:

These are two pictures I took yesterday. It was a beautiful day and the sky had just a few clouds. You can see the trees are beginning to change color and it has just started getting cold here. Since the sun is up all of the way you can see how shiny the buildings are.
